Frequently Asked Questions

The majority of parish based organizations are chartered for one purpose.  It may be for prayer, outreach, bible study, fellowship, personal faith formation or parish support. Members of a Live Jesus! Community are committed to three purposes, studying the Catholic faith, sharing their faith with each other, and serving the needy in their quest to spread the Joy of the Gospel.

Anyone. Live Jesus! Communities are formed based on any common denominator e.g.  convenient meeting time and date. Members of a Live Jesus! Community do not necessarily belong to the same parish.

You have two choices: Join a group already up and running in your area or team up with other interested individuals to start your own Community.  To join an existing Community, simply register here.

Communities can be formed based on any common denominator e.g. neighborhood, workplace or profession. To get the most out of your community, select up to 8 peers at similar stages in their lives to get the most out of your Community.  We recommend you select people you’ll feel comfortable discussing spiritual issues with; for some people, this may mean not being in a group with a neighbor, family member or friend. You may want members from the same parish with shared experiences, or prefer people with diverse backgrounds who can offer different points-of-view. Either approach will work, and Live Jesus! Communities are coming together in all types of exciting and unexpected ways. Live Jesus! To start your own Community simply contact us at and we will help you.

A facilitator helps keep things organized and makes sure your conversations are productive. We recommend two co-facilitators for a successful Group: one to manage schedules, keep time and make sure members come prepared, and the other to facilitate discussions and lead your members through each session. If you’d rather have one moderator take on both roles or switch off moderators, that’s OK too.

The goal of a Live Jesus! Community is to create a safe environment to share our Catholic faith, learn, and grow together. Confidentiality is critical. Members are not going to feel comfortable sharing real issues if they don’t trust everyone in the group. Start your group by talking about the importance of confidentiality and coming up with guidelines that everyone agrees on. Our recommendation: strict confidentiality.

Yes. From time to time, life gets in the way of our plans and commitments. If another Community schedule better fits your schedule, simply contact us at and we will help you join another Community either on a temporary or permanent basis.

Once you join a group, we ask that you remain in the group through a four-month unit. You may continue with that group indefinitely or you may change to another group as your schedules and life situations change. Our hope is that you will build relationships with group members as you grow in your faith and share the Joy of the Gospel. Life may dictate that you drop out of the peer group for any given four-month cycle. That’s OK.

If you have made an error on your registration, or if you need to un-register, contact us at and we will help you make changes to your registration.

Studies show we achieve more in groups than we do as individuals.
